Capacity Building for the Center for
Agriculture and Bioscience of IPB University in Indonesia

The KOICA-ICAB project aims to enhance IPB University’s research and educational capacities in agriculture and bioscience in Indonesia by establishing the National Instrumentation Center for Agriculture and Bioscience (NICAB). The project includes construction of NICAB, remodeling of the Advanced Research Laboratory (ARLab), installation of advanced laboratory equipment, and comprehensive human resource development through short-term and mid-term training programs and Ph.D. education at Seoul National University.

KOICA–ICAB Project Launching Ceremony

The KOICA–ICAB Project Launching Ceremony was held on February 8, 2023, in Bogor, Indonesia, with over 100 participants, including Prof. Arif Satria, Rector of IPB University, KOICA Indonesia Office and Institutes of Green Bio Science and Technology, Seoul National University.

MoU between IPB and SNU

In May 2023, Seoul National University and IPB University strengthened their partnership by signing an MoU on research collaboration and an MoA for a student exchange program. Signed by SNU President Prof. Hong Lim Ryu and IPB Rector Prof. Arif Satria, the agreements lay the foundation for expanded joint research, academic cooperation, and student mobility between the two institutions.

SNU-IPB Green Bio Science Forums

The SNU-IPB Green Bio Science Forums, held since 2023, provided high-level platforms for academic exchange, research collaboration, and institutional dialogue. Through lectures, panel discussions, keynote speeches, and multi-stakeholder networking, the Forums deepened cooperation between IPB University and Seoul National University and expanded partnerships with government agencies, industry leaders, and research equipment companies.

KOICA-ICAB Short-term Training Program

The KOICA-ICAB Short Term Training is an annual 10-day program held in Seoul, designed to enhance participants' knowledge and skills in advanced laboratory management and environmental research. In this program, participants gain firsthand insights into laboratory operations and technologies. The knowledge acquired is expected to be applied to strengthen laboratory practices in Indonesia.

KOICA-ICAB Mid-term Training Program

The KOICA-ICAB Midterm Training is a four-month invitational training program designed to enhance participants' expertise in bioscience and biotechnology. Through this training, participants gain valuable knowledge, hands-on experience, and professional networks related to advanced laboratory facilities, research methodologies, and industrial applications. A key focus of the program is equipping trainees with the skills needed to operate and manage laboratory equipment.
