1st On-site Capacity Building Workshop
Smart Forest Management for the Improvement of Ecosystem
The 1st On-Site Training Program was held from 21st – 26th June 2023, we were joined by 11 Graduate Students from Republic of Korea, 8 Graduate Students from IPB University, Indonesia, 3 Professors from Republic of Korea, 1 Professor from IPB University and 2 KOICA-ICAB Local Staff. The On-Site Training Program started on the 21st June 2023 with a one-day workshop titled “Smart Forest Management for the Improvement of Ecosystem”. During the workshop, the students got a chance to share and present their ideas and research as well as listen to special lectures from professors in IPB University on utilizing smart forest management to improve the ecosystem.
During the training program, the students visited and learned various places around Java Island. They got some lecturers from the expert at CIFOR (Center for International Forestry Research), Forest Management Unit and Teak Plantation in Kendal Regency, Central Java, Mount Merapi National Park, Borobudur Temple, Mangrove Conservation in Baros, Yogyakarta and lastly visited the Ministry of Forestry and Environment, Jakarta.
