ARLAB REMODELING

Introduction to ARLab

The Advanced Research Laboratory (ARLab) building at IPB University was constructed in 2018 to support research activities and accommodate various advanced research instruments. However, the existing room conditions were inadequate to house the equipment optimally, necessitating a remodeling process. In the initial planning phase, the remodeling was intended to cover both the laboratory and office areas within AR Lab. However, as discussions progressed, it was decided that all research and analytical activities would be relocated to NICAB, while the AR Lab building would be repurposed as an office space, training and educational facilities.

Remodeling of ARLab

The ARLab remodeling was carried out as part of the KOICA-ICAB Project and was completed by September 2025. The renovation was supported through a matching-fund arrangement in collaboration with IPB University, which managed the procurement process.

ARLab Remodeling Process

The ARLab remodeling has progressed through a coordinated series of structural, technical, and operational upgrades designed to create a modern, secure, and fully functional research environment. Core renovation works included improvements to office and common areas, restroom upgrades, installation of safety railings, and interior construction on upper floors.

To support the establishment of the animal cell culture room, additional electrical lines were installed for key equipment such as freezers, ultra-low temperature freezers, centrifuges, and sterilizers, all of which were tested and verified for stable operation. Network infrastructure and climate control systems were also enhanced to ensure reliable day-to-day research activities.
